Nollywood actress Ajara Lasisi, popularly known as Aunty Ajara, has been laid to rest. She was buried on Thursday, February 5, 2026, following Islamic rites, just a few hours after her death was confirmed.
The ceremony was a very sad one, with family, friends, and some of her colleagues gathered around to say their final goodbyes as she was lowered into the grave wrapped in white cloth.
Aunty Ajara’s death is especially painful because it was revealed that she was battling a serious liver illness while also being pregnant. Before she passed away, many of her colleagues, including Ronke Oshodi-Oke and Mama No Network, had cried out to the public to help raise money for her treatment, as she was already on oxygen support.
Nigerians showed her great love by contributing over 5 million Naira, but sadly, her condition was too critical. Following her burial, her management thanked everyone for their prayers and support but officially asked people to stop sending money to her accounts. She will be remembered as a hardworking and humble actress who brought a lot of joy to the Yoruba movie industry.
