Popular small-sized Yoruba actress Ajara Lasisi, better known as Aunty Ajara, has passed away. Doctors confirmed her death on Thursday morning, February 5, 2026, after she lost her battle with a liver-related illness.
Her elder brother, Ridwan Lasisi, broke the news in a viral video, where he thanked everyone who supported the family during her time in the hospital. Actress Mama No Network also shared the sad update, writing, “With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved actress, Aunty Ajara. She passed on overnight after a long and courageous battle with illness.”
Aunty Ajara was buried on Thursday according to Islamic rites, shortly after the news broke. Before her death, her colleagues like Ronke Oshodi-Oke and Wumi Toriola had begged Nigerians to help raise money for her treatment.
Mama No Network revealed that while over 5 million Naira was raised, the actress’s condition was very critical, and it was even discovered that she was pregnant while fighting the liver disease. Her family has now asked the public to stop sending money to her accounts, saying, “It is no longer required.”
