I’m now Evangelist Tonto – Tonto Dikeh declares

Nollywood actress and politician Tonto Dikeh has announced that she will no longer be addressed as “King Tonto.” In a post shared with her followers on Monday, March 2, 2026, the movie star revealed that she has been instructed by the Holy Spirit to adopt a new title reflecting her spiritual growth. “I will no longer be addressed as King Tonto Dikeh, but woman of God or Evangelist Tonto based on the instructions of the Holy Spirit,” she announced, signaling a formal departure from the “King” persona she has used for years.

This change follows her recent graduation from an intensive discipleship program at Streams of Joy International, led by Pastor Jerry Eze, where she has been vocal about her “deeply healing” spiritual transformation and her new role as a member of the church’s “Temple Keepers” department.

The rebranding comes after a series of public testimonies in late 2025 and early 2026, where the 40-year-old actress opened up about overcoming long-standing personal battles, including a 27-year smoking habit and “demonic anger” that she claims previously sabotaged her life and relationships. “I have known myself to have sexual intercourse in the dream ever since I was a child… But praying with NSPPD, God took all of those away and gave me peace,” she shared during a viral testimony, adding that she has finally found genuine peace for the first time in her life.

Dikeh noted that while she was initially concerned about protecting her public image, she realized that the God who gave her the image is the same one who can take it away, leading her to prioritize her new calling over her previous brand.

This announcement is part of a broader “Public Service Announcement” for 2026, where the actress has also set strict new boundaries for her professional and personal life. She emphasized that she is being “very intentional” about the brands she supports, stating she will not associate with anyone who is disrespectful toward her, her faith, or her pastor.

“Respect is non-negotiable. I will not contribute to the growth of any brand that doesn’t value, honour, or protect my person and my work,” she warned. As “Evangelist Tonto,” she has committed herself to a life of service, including daily tasks like cleaning the church washrooms, which she describes as a vital exercise in “divine obedience and character formation.”
