Beverly Osu Reveals How She Was Underpaid for Years

by admin

Nigerian actress and reality television personality Beverly Osu opens up about the financial realities of the entertainment industry, stating that despite years of hard work and a diverse career portfolio, she believes her efforts should have already translated into billionaire status across African currencies. The film star, who rose to prominence following her appearance on the reality show Big Brother Africa, expressed frustration over what she described as years of being underpaid despite contributing significantly to different segments of the entertainment sector.

Speaking during a recent episode of the Ghacha’s Chough podcast, Osu reflected on her journey through various roles within the industry and the financial challenges that have accompanied that path. According to her, the scope of her work and experience should ordinarily place her among the highest earners within the creative economy. She said, “I have worked so hard, my portfolio is enough to make me a billionaire not just in Nigeria but in Africa.”

Osu further emphasized that while she maintains a humble disposition, she remains aware of the value of her contributions and believes that the rewards she has received do not adequately reflect the effort she has invested over the years.

The actress suggested that structural issues within the entertainment industry have contributed to the gap between her achievements and the financial success she expected to attain.

Continuing her remarks on the podcast, she highlighted the wide range of roles she has undertaken throughout her career while calling for better compensation for creatives in the industry. She said, “I am a very humble person but I know that my portfolio is enough to make me a billionaire.” She added, “So, I am fighting for better wages. I have tried different facets of the entertainment industry. From being a luxury model to video vixen to reality TV star and now actor. I have paid my dues.”
