“Betrayal is Your Portion” – Wike Curses Politicians Backing Disloyal Allies

by admin

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has sent a clear and fiery warning to political leaders who are backing people he labels as “betrayers.”

Speaking in Port Harcourt on Saturday, February 7, 2026, during the launch of the Rivers State Renewed Hope Ambassadors headquarters, Wike didn’t hold back. He told the crowd of senators, ministers, and governors that if they support disloyalty today, they should be prepared to be betrayed themselves in the future.

Wike’s comments are clearly aimed at the ongoing political war in Rivers State. He specifically warned governors currently serving their second terms who are trying to pick their own successors.

He claimed that if these governors support “betrayal” now, they will never survive the fallout once their handpicked successors take over. The former governor even added a spiritual twist to his warning, telling the audience that his message came directly from the “gods of the land.”

The tension in Rivers State has reached a boiling point following the major move by Wike’s successor, Governor Siminalayi Fubara, who officially dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in December 2025.

While Fubara claimed the move was a “spiritual assignment” to align with President Tinubu, it has completely reshaped the state’s politics. With Wike still acting as a political powerhouse and Fubara now sitting in the same party as the President, the battle for control over Rivers State is far from over.
