Governor Nwifuru Sends 98 Ebonyi Students to the UK

by admin

Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru has sent off 98 indigenes of the state to the United Kingdom for their Master’s and PhD degrees. This is the second group of students to benefit from the state’s big scholarship scheme.

The governor held a special send-off ceremony on Monday at the Chuba Okadigbo International Airport in Ezza, where he prayed for the students before they started their journey.

Governor Nwifuru called the students his “children.” He told them he was sending them off with love and high hopes, praying that God protects them while they are in a foreign land. He charged the scholars to face their books, pass with flying colors, and most importantly, come back home to use what they learned to develop Ebonyi State. The governor got emotional, explaining that this scholarship program is very personal to him. He told the students that he decided to give them the educational opportunities that he didn’t have when he was younger. He urged the 98 beneficiaries to behave well and justify the huge amount of money the state is spending on their education.

This move is part of the governor’s plan to boost the brainpower of Ebonyi State. By training these graduates in top UK universities, the government hopes to create a new generation of experts who will return to lead different sectors in the state.
