Vivian Joseph, the wife of popular Nollywood actor and media personality Victor Nwaogu (known as Nkubi), revealed a harrowing experience regarding the societal and medical prejudice she faced during her pregnancy.
She revealed that while she was undergoing an abnormality scan, a medical doctor questioned her choice of partner in a highly unprofessional and insulting manner.
According to Vivian, the doctor looked at her and asked why she didn’t choose to get pregnant for someone else, even suggesting her brother-in-law rather than her husband, simply because of Nkubi’s physical stature.
In her words, “When I did my abnormality scan, the doctor asked why I didn’t go to my brother-in-law or outside to get pregnant instead of getting pregnant for my husband.”
This revelation is part of a broader story of resilience for the couple, who have frequently been the targets of online and offline abuse since they married in 2021.
In August 2025, Vivian was forced to publicly call out a social media user who sent her a message advising her to unalive her daughter before the child grew up.
The couple has often discussed the opposition they faced from families and strangers who questioned their union because Nkubi is a person with dwarfism.
Despite these painful encounters, Vivian and Nkubi have remained a united front. The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter, in April 2024. Vivian has consistently stood by her husband, describing him as her “lovey lovey” and emphasizing that their love is built on a foundation that transcends physical appearances.
Nkubi has also used his platform to advocate for people with disabilities, often joking that while he may be small in stature, his impact and the love in his home are immeasurable.
