Wike Confirms Interest in Oyo State PDP Affairs

by admin

The long-standing fight between FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde took a new turn on Monday night. During the PDP’s big meeting (NEC) in Abuja, Wike openly declared that he is now monitoring everything happening in the Oyo State branch of the party.

Even though Wike and Makinde were “best friends” during the last election as part of the G-5 Governors, things have fallen apart between them.

Wike didn’t hide his intentions. He said clearly, “I am interested in all the happenings in Oyo State PDP.”

He promised to protect the PDP from internal “vampires” who want to destroy the party. He told his rivals that they can’t intimidate him and that their legal battles against the party’s leadership have failed.

Wike told party members to stop acting like the PDP is a charity. He told them to go back to their villages and wards to win voters instead of waiting for a governor to help them. He reminded them that he wasn’t a governor before he won his seat, so nobody should feel “small” without a governor’s backing. Even though the party elders asked for peace, Wike warned his supporters to stay sharp. He believes enemies are still trying to break the party from the inside.

Wike is making it clear that he isn’t backing down. By focusing on Oyo State, he is sending a direct message to Governor Makinde. For now, the group led by Abdulrahman Mohammed remains in charge, and the party is moving toward a big national convention to elect new leaders.
