Popular comedian and actor Broda Shaggi has been admitted to the hospital after being shot at the Sango-Ota bridge. Unknown attackers allegedly opened fire on the production crew while they were on location shooting new comedy.
According to reports , the attackers struck during of the filming session, taking the team by surprise in a site that is well-known for its complicated security dynamics and heavy traffic. Eyewitnesses reported a chaotic scene as crew members scrambled for cover amid the sound of gunfire; however, details about the attack’s motivation are still unclear. Shaggi, unfortunately suffered injuries that required emergency medical attention.
As initially reported , the Lagos State Police Command has formally confirmed the occurrence, indicating a prompt start to the investigation into the shooting. The Police PRO claims that tactical teams have been sent to the Sango-Ota axis in order to collect forensic evidence from the crime scene and search the region for the offenders. The command has reassured the public that every effort would be made to bring the attackers to justice, stressing that the public’s and creatives’ safety is still of utmost importance.
“The Lagos State Police Command is aware of the unfortunate shooting of Samuel Perry, popularly known as Broda Shaggi, under the Sango-Ota bridge and we are working tirelessly to apprehend the suspects involved,” the Command stated in an official statement about the preliminary findings.
