Nollywood actress Kemisola Apesin, better known as Kemity, has firmly denied allegations that she engaged in sexual favors with male colleagues to secure movie roles. The controversy erupted following her involvement in a heated public feud between her mentor, Ibrahim “Itele” Yekini, and his estranged former friend, Austin Emmanuel.
When Kemity stepped in to defend Itele against Austin’s claims of betrayal, supporters of Austin retaliated by accusing her of “sleeping around” for opportunities and threatening to expose further secrets if she continued to interfere.
Responding to these claims on Instagram on Friday, February 13, 2026, Kemity characterized the allegations as mere “social media noise” and maintained that her career has been built on hard work rather than compromise. She wrote, “There’s something I need to clear respectfully… I’ve never used my body or slept with anyone to get featured in any film, or exchanged sex for an opportunity. Nobody should let anyone deceive them because of social media noise.” She emphasized that she was already financially independent before finding fame, noting that she owned two wine shops and worked as a receptionist at a hotel in Ayobo, Lagos, to fund her early career.
The actress also explained that she once pivoted to makeup artistry to better understand the production process before returning to acting. As a mother of two daughters, she stated that she is deeply committed to leaving a clean legacy and protecting her integrity. “My name is clean… No one — and I mean no one — can ever come out boldly to say I used my body to collect anything from him,” she declared. She concluded her post by advising aspiring actresses to pursue success through discipline and consistency rather than seeking shortcuts.
