Gospel Icon Ron Kenoly Confirmed Dead at 81

by admin

The world mourns as legendary American gospel singer Ron Kenoly sadly passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at the age of 81. His music director, Bruno Miranda, confirmed the sad news, describing Kenoly as a man who lived his life to lead others into the presence of God. Although his team did not state the cause of death, tributes have been pouring in from across the globe, especially in Nigeria, where he was a regular face at major events like “The Experience.”

Ron Kenoly was far more than just a singer; he was a pioneer who changed how churches around the world praise God. His classic songs like “Ancient of Days,” “Be Glorified,” and “Lift Him Up” became anthems in almost every Nigerian church.

Nigerian gospel star Nathaniel Bassey joined many others to pay tribute, saying, “Thank you for inspiring generations of psalmists like me.” During his long career, Kenoly released over 20 albums and always reminded his followers that he wasn’t an entertainer but a servant of God. As his director put it, “The worship he lived is now the worship he beholds.”
