The uncle of superstar Davido cheers him up after lossing out on a trophy at the 2026 Grammy Awards. His uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, quickly reached out to cheer him up. Davido shared some photos from the event on his X (formerly Twitter) page with a simple message in Pidgin: “Oluwa Dey my side.”
Governor Adeleke, who is Davido’s biggest fan, replied to the post to show his support, telling him, “Proud of you always @davido.” Davido wasted no time in showing respect to his uncle, replying that he loves him and that they will continue to move forward.
Davido was nominated for the Best African Music Performance for his song with Omah Lay, but the award went to Tyla instead. Even with the disappointment, the DMW boss is staying positive and leaning on his faith and family to keep going.
