Cubana Chief Priest posted a provocative comment on the recent tragedy in Plateau State that has generated a lot of discussion on Nigerian social media.

In response to the horrifying murder of more than forty residents in the Gari Ya Waye neighborhood of Angwan Rukuba, Jos, the Celebrity Barman claimed that the incident was a planned effort to “embarrass” President Bola Tinubu on his 74th birthday.

The incident happened on the president’s birthday, which happened to be on a Palm Sunday, March 29, 2026, at around 7:50 p.m. Cubana Chief Priest, a prominent member of the president’s reelection support group, voiced his “utmost disappointment” with the timing of the violence in his Instagram account on Tuesday night, April 1, 2026.

In his words, “I have been cold… the video of that woman and her child can’t get out of my head. When will these killings ever stop? This was clearly done to embarrass our president on his birthday.”

In addition to his reasoning on the motives of the attackers, the influencer harshly criticized Caleb Mutfwang, the governor of Plateau State. During a recent visit to the devastated community, he denounced the governor’s choice of security detail, “The Governor in Jos pulled up in a Bunker… does it mean everyone should now pull up in bunkers because he is more scared for his life than the people? To lead a state you have to be fearless,” he asked.
