Nigerian rapper Dremo, has finally spoken out about why he exit DMW in an interview that has gone viral on social media.
The “Man2Man” crooner revealed that a lack of fair attention was the reason behind his decision to leave the company in an interview with the Echo Room podcast on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.
Dremo claims that the label’s CEO, Davido, always received the majority of the management’s attention and resources, leaving other gifted signees to pursue their careers with little assistance. In his words, “The management focused only on Davido,” implying that the other members of the roster’s professional development was hampered by the uneven focus.
Dremo went on to discuss DMW’s inner relationships, pointing out that the label did not encourage cooperation among its own musicians.
He disclosed a startling lack of collaboration, stating that he never even recorded a song with rapper and labelmate Idowest because everyone was too busy “striving to stay afloat” on their own. “Even DMW as a whole didn’t collaborate much; we never had a record label album,” he stated, expressing his “utmost disappointment” that the “30BG” crew’s combined talent was never completely realized into a collaborative project.
Beyond the artistic obstacles, the rapper implied that the public’s idea of luxury and “bragging rights” was not aligned with the financial reality of being signed to the major label. He explained that DMW was not so much a source of direct financial gain for him as it was a platform for promotion.
“I didn’t get paid by the label. It is more like a platform” Dremo admitted, “I didn’t get what I wanted.” He chose to go independent for his 2026 releases, including his most recent song “Man To Man,” as a result of this “sobering reminder” of the difficulties faced by large Nigerian companies.
He further addressed that regardless of thelabel issues him and Davido’s relationship is also okay.
