Nigerian singer Abdulsalam Suliyat Modasola, better known by her stage name Liya, disclosed that she left the Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) label because she wanted to advance both personally and professionally.
In October 2020, Liya became the first female artist signed to Davido’s record label, but sadly, in 2023, the label formally broke up with Liya.
In an interview with Josy Anne on the show Wahala, the singer revealed that the emotional difficulties she faced while working for the label had a big impact on her welfare.
She claims that the time was characterized by weariness, melancholy, and health issues, which finally forced her to make the tough choice to leave.
